Good Enough
I’m giving up on not being good enough for you. Cause who gave you the right to rule who’s good enough? I guess I did, but I’ve learned some things since then. Our worth(iness) doesn’t come from the judgments of our friends. It’s who we are, not what we can and cannot do that makes us good enough.
This world’s a crazy mess brimmed with vanity. So I’m putting to rest what you think of me. I truly wish you well in everything you do. But I’m giving up on good enough.
I’m giving up on just being good enough for me. Cause I’ve only got one life to lead good enough’s not good enough. I guess I thought good was good enough for me— even if my worthiness doesn’t come from performing. Good enough is the enemy of the better things. So good enough’s not good enough.
This world’s a crazy mess brimmed with vanity. So I’m putting to rest mediocrity. I truly want the best in everything I do. So I’m giving up on good enough.
