My Tune of Nostalgia

When I was a kid everything was fine. I didn’t have to worry about almost anything. Playing in dirt piles and in the park; jumping off of swings. Riding bikes. Summer swims and summer nights. Recesses. Picky tastes. Simplicity. PB & J. Seven hour weekend days of Nintendo games.

This is my tune of nostalgia; this I understand. But there’s something greater to be understood. What exactly does it mean to have faith just like a child? Take away the things I know now, replace them with the things I knew when I was a child.

Now I’ve traded it all in, 'cause it is time to enter a new stage in life. Deadlines and worried nights with real problems and strangers with dumb advice. Digging through paper piles on the job—gotta work to stay alive.

I know there’s got to be more to this life— I’m glad I found it, cause otherwise I think it'd be hard to survive. Fear of the Lord keeps a man from staying blind. So even with all these pressures, I’m sure that I’ll be fine.
